The name Scallop is derived from the old French escalope which means shell. They have two types of meat; the scallop which is firm, white and meaty and the roe (coral), which is red and softer. Scallops consist of 80 percent protein at just 95 calories, and they're an amazing source of magnesium and potassium.
Cook it: rinse in cold water and pat dry. Add a drop of butter and oil to a saucepan, cook both sides on a high heat for 1 and a half minutes until golden.
